Trinity is an M.S. student in the Quantitative Ecology and Resource Management program. She received her Bachelors’ in Ecology and Data Science from Northern Michigan University. During her time at NMU, as a Freshman Fellow under Dr. Diana Lafferty, she researched American marten-parasite-gut microbiome interactions. She also worked under Dr. Kurt Galbreath, researching the phylogeography of cestodes in Mongolia. Her experiences further include, volunteering with Michigan’s DNR under Caitlin Ott-Conn to assist with genetic sexing of bobcats for wildlife population surveys, and interning at Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute under Dr. Mike McCoy, where she researched using a time-to-event approach for estimating size-dependent functional responses. At UW, Trinity plans to research the use of age data, aging error, and bias information in groundfish fishery stock assessment models.
