I graduated with  a BSc in Marine Science from the National University of Ireland, Galway in 2019 where my studies focused on fisheries, statistics and marine field work. I returned to NUIG in 2021 where I completed a Higher Diploma in Data analysis and visualization, focusing my research on modeling variability in fisheries trawl surveys. It was during this course of study that I discovered how much I enjoyed the overlap of computer science and biology, hence why I decided to pursue an MSc in the Punt lab. I’m currently working as a fisheries lab analyst for the Irish Marine Institute.. My work involves lots of time offshore collecting samples from trawl, ichthyoplankton and underwater TV (UWTV) surveys as well as plenty of time in the lab processing this data. My graduate studies in the Punt lab will focus on developing model diagnostics for the Stock synthesis 3 (SS3) assessment model.
