Caitlin is a MSc student in the School of Aquatic and Fisheries Science at University of Washington. She began the masters program with Dr. André Punt in Fall 2014. She was awarded her BSc in Ecology, Behavior, and Evolution from University of California, San Diego in 2010. Before coming to UW, she worked at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, working with Scripps’ California Cooperative Oceanic Fisheries Investigation (CalCOFI) group studying California market squid (Doryteuthis opalescens) paralarvae. Her work at Scripps included research cruises jointly conducted by CalCOFI and the NOAA Southwest Fishery Science Center. While at Scripps, she also collaborated with the California Wetfish Producers Association on the sustainability of the marked squid fishery. While living in San Diego, she also worked as a Divemaster for Ocean Enterprises (OE), assisting with classes and leading small groups of veteran divers certified through OE’s Wounded Warrior Project scuba certification program.
