Dr. Kristin Hoelting is a Research Scientist in the Punt lab. She collaborates with the NOAA Alaska Fisheries Science Center (AFSC) to develop social indicators for Alaska fisheries, with emphasis on food security and resilient fishing communities. Previously, Dr. Hoelting worked as a consultant with the U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization on fisheries social indicators, and with the U.S. Geological Survey on plural values of nature for ecosystem valuation, and pathways for meaningful integration of diverse knowledges in adaptive management and decision-making. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Policy from Harvard University (2003), a Master of Marine Affairs from the UW School of Marine Affairs (2011), and a Ph.D. in Human Dimensions of Natural Resources from Colorado State University (2022).
