Past Visiting Scientist

Enrico is a postdoctoral fellow at the Italian National Research council, mainly working on the application of stock assessment methods. He focuses on developing strategies to incorporate climatic and ecological risk in scientific advice given for south European fishery management. He is particularly interested in connecting ecological models to single species stock assessment models.

Enrico earned his PhD in 2024 from the University of Bologna (Italy). For his PhD project, he did research on how to implement an ecosystem approach to fisheries management in a manner suitable for the Mediterranean Sea. He visited the Punt Lab during 2024 as part of his PhD research. He was supported by Dr. André Punt to adapt a Risk Assessment method previously developed for Alaskan fisheries to a European case study.
